  SUMO

A 2000 year-old form of wrestling that is concidered by many to be the national sport of Japan.
Sumo became a professional sport in the early Edo period(1600-1868).
 
 Judo
This is the most well known martial art; it has become a popular sport worldwide and regularly features in the Olympic Games.
 
Kendou
The oldest martial arts. It is practised with a bamboo stave protective body armour, gauntlets and a face mask.
