Daibutsu (Great Buddha)
The most famous single sight in Kamakura is the great bronze figure
of Buddha. The seated figure is more than 11meters tall, plus pedestal,
and weighs nearly 100tonnes. The Buddha itself is the Amida Budda,
worshipped by the followers of the Jodo sect as a figure of salvation.

Tsuruoka Hachiman-gu shrine
Occupying the place of honor in Kamakura, the shrine is built on
a hillside overlooking the city and a long boulevard that leads
to the sea. The small museum in the main building houses armour,
swords, masks,
and other historic items. |

Chinatown (chukagai)
This is the only Chinatown in Japan. It is known for its restaurants
and shops selling Chinese products and curios. |
Yamashitta Koen
This area is traditionally Yokohama's sightseeing district. At the
heart of it all is Yamashita-koen Park. Its harbour view call your
attention. |
